The
Teaching Hospitals include, Bapuji Hospital, Bapuji Child
Health Institute and Research Center, Chigateri General Hospital
( District Hospital) and Women and Children Hospital. The
total bed strength of these tertiary care hospitals are in
excess of 2210 beds.
The hospitals have facilities in General Medicine,
Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy,
General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology,
Obstetrics and Gynecology, Radiodiagnosis and Anesthesiology.
To keep pace with the changing health delivery system, facilities
have been provided by establishing departments of Cardiology,
Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology,
Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, Nephrology
and Neonatology. |

S.T.J. Rural Hospital, Channagiri
A Rural Hospital in an area of 32 Acres has been built by the BEA with all facilities for diagnosis and management of patients. Internees and students are posted to the hospital for learning community health services. Specialist doctors are posted daily to attend Out Patients for providing specialty health care and train the students.
Permanent staff like Superintendent, Resident Medical Officer, Para-Medical Personnel like Lab Technicians, X-Ray Technicians, Nursing are provided for out patient care. The hospital has facilities for in-patients and surgical procedures which well be commissioned in due course.
