Department of Microbiology
Department of Microbiology was started in the Year 1965. Since its inspection it is expanding both in Human resource & infrastructure. We aim to provide quality education & quality diagnostics tests for better patient care.
Our department is one of the laboratory in central part of Karnataka with all advanced state-of-art equipments. Viz. Bact-alert & Vitek-2, NABL accredited PCR laboratory(COVID lab), Immunofluorescence, serological tests both rapid and ELISA techniques like Dengue IgM antibody detection, Malarial antigen detection, VDRL, Widal, RPR, ASO etc to name a few.
Our faculties are actively involved in teaching the Post graduates & Undergraduate as per the new CBME curriculum, couples with smart digital screen for demonstration rooms & smart monitors for microscopes. The faculties guide UG’s in various ICMR projects & RGUHS funded projects. The teaching faculties are regularly updated with their academic and teaching skills.
